Resurrection Fest Estrella Galicia 2018: poster for Thursday 12th July

After the poster of our Wednesday warm-up party, it’s time to check the poster for Thursday! At the top, from Sweden, we are honored to have the Swedes Ghost, lead by Papa Emeritus, being one of the most important current bands in the world right now. They will present a new album and we will all join them in unison to celebrate a ceremony in honor of Satan. Stone Sour, with the mighty Corey Taylor, are returning to Spain after more than 10 years without coming, and we can’t wait to enjoy this performance. Both bands will have exclusive shows this year at the festival, and they’re not the only good things waiting for us!

For extreme metal lovers, we will have great bands like the parents of melodic death metal, At The Gates, the powerful thrash of Overkill, the brutal death of Suffocation with one of the last concerts with his original singer, the grindcore of the French Nostromo or the death of The Lurking Fear. If you are into ambient black metal, you can’t miss one of the biggest exponents nowadays, Wolves In The Throne Room, who are headlining our Desert Stage, in company of the stoner of Mars Red Sky from France, and our experimental British friends in Rolo Tomassi.

Do you like punk rock? Well, then pay attention, because we’ll have once again the boys in Anti Flag and for the first time, these funny Swedes called The Baboon Show. Stick To Your Guns, Cancer Bats, Basement and Get The Shot will delight our hardcore fans, and we are sure that their concerts in the tent stage will be the most intense ones on that day. If you love metalcore, two young, promising bands will be with us: from Ukraine, you have to check Jinjer, with the impressive voice of Tatiana Shmayluk, and from Japan, check Crystal Lake, their first time in Spain. Both destroy our stage with its breakdowns and circle pits.

Dawn of the Maya are saying goodbye and they will have their last concert ever on our main stage, promising to be a brutal and emotional concert. A “must” for all the fans. One of our band contest winners in 2013, Against The Waves, are coming back to Viveiro more alive than ever and with new lineup. Stoned At Pompeii is one of the promises of the Galician metal and will show us why in our Chaos Stage. Also from Galicia, the girls in Agoraphobia will join us at the Desert Stage to play their hits and their last album. Imperial Jade and their psychedelic rock will make us headbang for hours, and together with them, we will also be enjoying the sludge of aathma and the stoner of Santo Rostro. In the Ritual Stage, Cuchillo de Fuego will make us dance non-stop with their crazy songs, and from León, Los Montañeros de Kentucky are ready to kick our asses. Bloodhunter, lead by the popular Diva Satanica, and Vörtex are the last bands for this epic first day of festival.

Finally, to close the day in an awesome way, we’ll have once again our Portuguese neighbors of Abaixo Cu Sistema (System of a Down tribute band). We’ll all sing “Chop Suey” hugging each other until late, the best way to end this!
