Resurrection Fest Estrella Galicia 2018: poster for Friday 13th July

After the posters for Wednesday and Thursday, it’s turn for Friday! These German hard-rock titans called Scorpions will be headlining this great day, and there will be no shortage of classics like “Rock you Like a Hurricane” or some of the best power ballads like “Still Loving You”. In addition to that, in their lineup we’ll find the mighty Mikkey Dee, Motörhead’s drummer, who we are sure keeps a great memory of us after the last performance of Lemmy and company in Spain (Resurrection Fest 2015). Let’s hope they play some cover as a tribute…

MEGADETH, MEGADETH, AGUANTE, MEGADETH! Dave Mustaine returns with his band and with a new lineup, with the virtuoso Kiko Loureiro on guitar and Dirk Verbeuren on drums. It has been 35 years of career already and with each new album they add a new anthem to the list, showing why they belong to the Big Four of Thrash Metal. We’re sure circle pits and walls of death won’t give us a break! And what a better scenario than this to have back our biggest thrash metal Spanish band and one of the most important metal bands in the country: Angelus Apatrida! They return once again to the festival to present their next album “Cabaret de la Guillotine”, in a killer show on the main stage in front of their fans. It will be epic, the best of their history at the festival!

From the United Kingdom, the masters of doom, Paradise Lost, will present at the festival their last album called “Medusa”. You really are into progressive metal? Well, pay attention, since you’ll have an unrepeatable day. On the one hand, we’ll be joined by our Norwegian friends of Leprous, progressive metal geniuses, who have published an album last year called “Malina”, honey to the ears. You must not miss either the promising performance at our Main Stage of The Contortionist. From Canada, Oni will delight us with his progressive metal and “djent” sound, like our Portuguese neighbors of The Voynich Code, or Noah hysteria. With a Gothenburg-esque sound, the Basques of Rise To Fall are returning to Viveiro after 6 editions, and we will also have Barbarian Prophecies from Galicia and Pandemia from Cantabria.

If we go to our tent stage, these four “young” boys came in 2006 for our first edition and every 4 years we have had them back in Viveiro: the gods of hardcore, Sick of It All, will be with us once again, and they will be accompanied by some of the best bands in their genre. In the first place, we will have the young band Turnstile in the first time in Spain, and of course our French friends in Rise of the Northstar, one of our favorite year after year, who on this occasion will perform on our Main Stage presenting their next album. Demonstrate your saiya style! We will also have the Swedish Crust-punk of Wolfbrigade, with one of their few live appearances this year, Evergreen Terrace or Adrenalized. If you like post-hardcore and screamo, then you are lucky, because we will have Boneflower, Trono de Sangre and on the main stage, Virgen. Three of the best bands on the national scene.

One of the main bands in post-rock nowadays will also be with us: the Irish God is An Astronaut will headline our Desert Stage, which will also feature the sludge of Kirk Windstein and their guys in Crowbar, after his last visit in 2014. Prepare those necks, because the Swedes will Monolord, will try to break them thanks to their powerful riffs! And checking the Spanish part, we’ll have bands of incredible quality the like Niña Coyote eta Chico Tornado, The Wizards, Ciconia or Hongo.

To close this day, we have prepared a bit more of thrash metal: Seek ‘Em All will put the final point to this wrecker Friday covering all the great hits of Metallica. Whiplash!

See you there!
